The CT 239 is a monitor with high power handling, designed by Christian Gather. Drivers employed are the Mivoc KFT 130 M magnetostat and the 20 cm MPA WM8, a PA bass driver.

Both drivers are driven by an 18 dB crossover. The bass reflex port is on the rear side.

Excerpt from the review by Klang+Ton 6/2008:
... "It quickly became noticeable that the speakers should be placed further apart than usual, and also the listener shouldn't be too close. Only then will the CT239 build an unobtrusive but beautiful stage. Another detail: the actual volume is higher than perceived. The high efficiency and the excellent power handling really invite to turn up the volume. Both, the magnetostat as well as bass / midrange driver remain unflappable and handle even the power that's usually expected to come from large floorstanders. That's particularly amazing when leaving the room while the music is playing and re-entering after a while. The volume is so loud that the idea comes up that somebody played a trick and added a few speakers hidden in cupboard. The sound balance is perfect. Bass, midrange and tops are reproduced in the right ratio, only a few songs have a slightly darker timbre. The midrange is pleasantly airy ad the magnetostat just adds the cherries on the cake. Such a neutral sound balance is usually quite rare with these drivers and, above all, not at his price. That's really fun. In particular, thundering rock and pop gets this speaker going. Once in a while some rap lacks some low bass, but then drums and techno are so much punchier and tighter." ...
