For high frequencies a Seas Excel T29 CF001 with textile dome is used. Both drivers are connected to a 12 dB crossover.
Excerpt of the review in Klang+Ton 2/2007: "Considering the calibre of this speaker we expected quite a bit when we went into our listening room. And these expectations were certainly met. Initially, however, the sound was relatively unspectacular. The performance was unquestionably very balanced, rich in detail and tonality was absolutely OK, but we weren't bowled over. Just the bass was convincing and surprised us straight away. This was not to be expected by looking at the lab results. To put it simply – the bass is absolutely amazing! With eyes closed we had the illusion to sit in front of much larger speakers. At higher volumes the cones shows some extraordinary excursion, but the bass remains tight and clean, while the midrange is as soft as velvet. Great! The Nexus' great moment came a bit later, with different music material and fully unexpectedly. Out of the blue there were small details in the background of a live recording, finger picking on a guitar. Now, wait a minute, that wasn't there before? Sure, it was there but just not audible. The Nexus reproduces these minute details, not with heave ho but fully integrated into the overall picture. This speaker surely knows how to reproduce different shades of grey in dynamics, space and time as if it was a piece of cake." ...
Comment by Christian Gather: "Just take your favourite recording, sit down and listen. The Nexus will behave normally until you hear the kindling detail that you never noticed before. Then you will appreciate this speaker as much as I do. It's an extremely talented, non-capricious compact speaker of the highest standard."
