Concerto   Floorstanding as in Hobby Hifi 4/2015

Technical data
  • impedance: 4 Ohm
  • sensivity (2,83V/1m): 83 dB
  • size (HxWxD): 1180 x 320 x 350 mm
  • frequency range (-8dB): 30 - 35000 Hz
  • crossover frequency(s): 300, 3000 Hz
  • speaker type: bass reflex

Concerto is a 3 way floorstanding-speaker that employs Visaton and Scan Speak chassis: woofer Visaton TIW 250 XS 8 Ohm, ring radiator Scan Speak R3004/6020-10 and two Visaton midrange chassis TI100. The floorstander has been developed by Thomas Reimann.

The crossover consists of a 3rd order high-pass filter (18 dB per octave slope) for the tweeter, a 2rd order bandpass filter for the two mids. The woofer is connected to a 2nd order low-pass filter.

Between 70 Hz and 17 kHz, the frequency response is very linear on axis.

Kit with high-end crossover

In the high-end kit we deliver for the woofer a baked varnish I-core coil instaed of an H-core coil. In the filter for the tweeter Mundorf Evo silver/gold/oil capacitors are used. Most inductances are baked varnished coils for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered.

Impedance correction

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).

Price per impedance correction for one speaker, to be mounted on a small wooden board.     EUR 14,90 excl. VAT: € 12.52 / $ 13.40

universal PCB

If you prefer to mount the crossover components on a 240 x 165 mm universal PCB instead on wood:
Universal PCB RA240, order no.. str-RA240, price per unit:   EUR 8,60 excl. VAT: € 7.23 / $ 7.73
We recommend one board per kit (two boards for a speaker pair)
