Alhambra is a 2 way floorstanding speaker with fullrange speaker line-array consisting of three Mivoc fullrange speakers. Two small woofers situated opposite each other are in impuls compensated design.

Alhambra is a 2 way floorstanding speaker with fullrange speaker line-array consisting of three Mivoc fullrange speakers. Two small woofers situated opposite each other are in impuls compensated design. Alhambra has been developed by Bernd Timmermanns.

In Alhambra three Mivoc fullrange speakers FR358N form a line-array. Two small Mivoc subwoofers SWM68 are for the bass range.

The crossover consists of a 2nd order high-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) for the fullrange array. A serial RCL notch filter and a parallel RCL are smoothing the frequency response. The woofers are connected to a 2nd order low-pass filter (12 dB per octave slope) with an parallel RCL.

Between 40 Hz and 10 kHz, the frequency response of this loudspeaker is nearly flat on axis. Above 10 kHz the loudspeaker shows a frequency rise on axis. The decay spectrum is perfect below 10 kHz. At low volume, i.e. 90 dB at 1 m, the nonlinear distortions are below 0.5% above 200 Hz.

Kit with high-end crossover

The high-end kit comes with electrolytic capacitors uneched instead of the etched type in series to the fullrange loudspeakers. Except the 8.2 mH coil the inductances are baked varnished coils for minimizing microphonic effects. - The current flow through the coil creates a magnetic field which sets the reel of wire in motion. This motion induces a voltage in the coil which adds itself to the signal. The stiffer the reel of wire is, the less the signal will be altered.

Impedance correction

If you want to use a valve amplifier with this speaker an impedance correction should be employed. In this case the component quality is less important; therefore, we offer only one kit (upon request higher quality components are available).
